We are currently recruiting for a Nurse Assessor to join our client in Cardiff

 Job Purpose
  • To assist the Unit leader with the review, collation and pagination of patient’s medical records
  • To gather medical evidence of particular concern to underwriters through client telephone interviews and screening assessment
Main Duties
  • To set up cases on instruction from the Solicitor.
  • To review patient medical records providing a detailed chronology, identifying missing notes and indexing records from numerous sources.
  • To liaise with the medical records team for retrieval of missing records.
  • To ensure that compliance with internal and external service levels are met.
  • Develop ‘best practice’ by utilising critical thinking strategies, nursing processes and standard based protocols to deliver a nurse telephone led interview process or patient screening.
  • Plan, implement and assess training, protocols and documentation forms to ensure safe, timely delivery of telephone interviews and patient screening.
  • Ensure that all processes are actioned within agreed timescales, without compromising standards with regards to accuracy, consistency and compliance. Ensure that the principles of customer centricity and treating customers fairly are embedded. 

Skills needed:

  • Band 6 Nurse with current NMC registration (Must be able to take bloods)
  • Ability to decipher medical records and identify clinical records and charts
  • A broad knowledge base of medical terms and conditions
  • Good communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience in customer service
  • Computer and keyboard skills
  • Self motivated
  • Ability to concentrate in an open office environment
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to work accurately to tight deadlines
  • Good time keeping
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to manage diary system and prioritise workload
