We are currently seeking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer to work within this local manufacturing company. Your role will be to develop and improve the performance of current manufacturing processes through the identification of non-value added activities whilst reducing costs and quality defects through root cause analysis.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• To analyse and understand in detail the following:-
o Production standard vs. actual operating costs.
o Operating Efficiency within given business unit.
o Identification of non-value adding activities within process / product lead-time through VSM analysis.
o Corrective action identification through recognised proven root cause analysis techniques.
• To establish and implement methods to improve quality and efficiency. These include:-
o Implement tooling, jigs, fixtures and assembly aids in readiness for New Product introduction.
o Development and introduction of new working methods.
o Production Floor Layout and Ergonomic Analysis
o Work station design
o Producing standard operating procedures.
o Operator training programmes.
o New Product Introduction
With an indentured apprenticeship and ideally a HNC/HND in an engineering discipline, the successful candidate will have a sound engineering background. The individual must be able to demonstrate the use of Lean manufacturing techniques in previous roles giving examples of improvements attained.
With a strong background in New Product Introduction and continuous improvement through a Lean / 6 sigma approach, the individual must be comfortable with facilitating and participating within a group environment.
The salary on offer for this role is negotiable dependent on experience.
