We are currently recruiting for an experienced Software Development Engineer for this large manufacturing company. The main objective of the Software Development Engineers role is to design and develop embedded software and software systems products, from concept stage to production.
The key responsibilities of the Software Development Engineers role are:
• Analyse and Capture requirements for software development.
• Develop and Realise designs and proposals, and participate in peer reviews
• Prepare and Maintain software specifications and other associated documents.
• Liaise with Teams/Customers/Suppliers; providing technical support and communication of activities.
• Evaluate software; Identify and Implement countermeasures and improvements resulting from issues; including evaluation failures and changes in requirements.
• Control and monitor costs, quality of designs and schedules for introduction.
• Adhere to applicable regulations, company policies and quality systems.
• Undertake research and self-study to support training and development, enhance skills and knowledge, and prepare for career advancement.
• Arrange, prepare and maintain prototype samples tools and equipment.
Provide support, coaching and mentoring for peer development and training.
To be considered for the Software Development Engineers role, we are looking for applications from candidates with the following Qualifications and experience:
• BEng/BSc/HNC/HND in a suitable Engineering based discipline (Software or systems related).
• Several years’ experience in a product design/manufacturing role.
The role requires theoretical and practical knowledge and skill in the following areas;
• Embedded C (programming and development) C programming
• Digital and analogue systems (sensors, LCDs, etc.)
• Software development processes, quality systems and standards.
• Software testing techniques and methodology.
• Office applications (Excel, power point, etc.)
• Development tools and equipment (ICE, logic analysers, etc.)
