A fantastic opportunity for an intelligent ambitious software/web developer to work with a leading online financial services price comparison organisation. We operate the UK’s leading price comparison site for niche financial services products www.activequote.com and work closely with leading financial services organisations and websites across the UK such as uSwitch.com, TescoCompare.com, MoneySupermarket.com, Confused.com etc. The company is highly entrepreneurial and fast moving.
We are a small team and as such you will be working directly with the senior developers and reporting to the company’s senior management. You will need to be highly intelligent and able to learn fast and be a good communicator as you will need to work closely on brainstorming internally and be confident when communicating with partners. You will be given full lifecycle projects to architect, develop, test & deliver. We are fast moving and need people who can be trusted to make the right decisions and get on with the job under their own steam. Projects will range from Front End web development in VB.NET + HTML5 + CSS + AJAX + JQuery to Back End XML web services in VB.NET (or C#) and occasionally small windows forms applications and tools. All of the technology is database driven using MS SQL 2008/2012.
The role is office based in Cardiff Bay within a stone’s throw of the bustling Mermaid Quay. We work in an open-plan environment with a fun open style and you will get to interact with all the people and functions of the business.
You should be a graduate with at least one year’s experience of VB.NET, Web Development and SQL preferably more.
Salary up to £28K depending on experience
